Yes. A custom skill can connect Chat Buddy to your own system. It can then look up live order status, stock levels or delivery estimates instead of relying only on static content.

What if Chat Buddy doesn't know the answer?

Chat Buddy won't make something up. It tells the customer it doesn't have enough information, and the question appears in your knowledge gaps list so you can see exactly what content to add next.

Yes. You decide which topics Chat Buddy can discuss and which it should avoid.

Which languages are supported?

Pick up to 1 (Starter), 5 (Pro) or 10 (Business) of 44 languages. Each language you pick gets the fully translated widget plus your own welcome message and suggested questions. Replies follow the visitor: Chat Buddy answers in whatever language they write in, even ones you haven’t set up. You can turn this off on the Branding page to keep replies in your selected languages. The admin panel itself is available in English only.

What counts as an AI message?

Each visitor message that Chat Buddy answers counts as one AI message. Messages sent while you've taken over a chat yourself don't count, and neither do off-topic messages Chat Buddy declines to answer.

Can I make Chat Buddy match my brand?

Yes, on every plan. You can set your logo, avatar, brand color, launcher icon, light or dark mode, widget text and welcome message. You can also choose where the widget sits on the page and add a pop-up message that greets visitors.

Can I remove Chat Buddy branding?

Yes, on the Business plan. Your customers then use the assistant without seeing any Chat Buddy branding, so it looks like part of your own brand. On Starter and Pro, a small Chat Buddy badge is shown in the widget.

Starter supports 1 website, Pro up to 3 and Business up to 5. Your account has one assistant and one look, shown on every website you add.

Can Chat Buddy take orders and capture leads?

Yes. Lead capture is on every plan: Chat Buddy can collect a visitor's contact details, or their preferred time for a booking. You get an email for each lead and booking on every plan. Order taking is on Pro and Business, where Chat Buddy collects items and delivery details and emails you each order.

Can Chat Buddy hand a chat over to a human?

Yes, on every plan. You get an alert in your dashboard when a visitor asks for a human, and you can take over the conversation right in the same chat. We also email you.

How will I be notified?

New chats appear as an alert with a sound in your dashboard on every plan. Chat Buddy also emails you about new orders, leads, booking requests, human-handoff requests, and when your usage is running low.

Starter includes 1 team member, Pro 3 and Business 5, all with full access. Every plan includes full conversation history and the same analytics dashboard. Pro adds priority support and Business adds dedicated support.

Yes. Each business's data is kept strictly separate, and personal data is scrubbed from our logs. Chat Buddy is built to resist visitors who try to trick it into ignoring your instructions, and you can limit or block visitors who flood it with messages.

Starter suits small sites that want the essentials on one website. Pro suits growing businesses that want to take orders and use several websites. Business suits teams and high-volume businesses that need the highest limits, a fully white-label experience and dedicated support.

There is no free plan, but every plan starts with a free trial so you can try Chat Buddy on your own website first.

Can I pay yearly?

Yes. Yearly billing is discounted. Compared with paying monthly for 12 months, Starter saves €38 per year, Pro €98 and Business €158.

Can I change or cancel my plan?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Upgrades apply immediately, and downgrades take effect at your next renewal. You can cancel anytime, and your widget keeps working until the end of the paid period. Payments are handled by Paddle, which provides VAT-correct invoices.

What happens when I reach my message limit?

Your plan includes a monthly allowance of AI messages that doesn't roll over. Chat Buddy emails you when 10%, 5% and 1% is left, so your widget never stops without warning. You can buy a one-time top-up pack without changing plan, or upgrade for a higher allowance.
